On June 19, 2007, The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) approved Oregon LNG’s request to use the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Pre-Filing Process for the proposed liquefied natural gas (“LNG”) receiving terminal and associated pipeline.

Oregon LNG filed the Preliminary Waterway Suitability Assessment on May 23, 2007 to the United States Coast Guard (USCG).

Strong and reputable consultants have been hired to help the project team through the FERC process, including:

  • King & Spalding as the FERC counsel



  • Davis Wright Tremaine as the general legal counsel



  • CH2MHill as the environmental consultant



  • CH2M HILL, Inc. as the pipeline engineer
     

  • CH2M HILL, Inc. as the marine engineer
     

  • CH·IV International as the owner’s engineer on LNG issues

  • Halcrow Group as the Waterway Suitability Assessment (WSA) contractor



 

The project site has already been re-zoned to allow for the building of an LNG facility.
